The 23rd International Conference on MultiMedia Modeling

The MMM 2017 ( is the 23rd International Conference on Multimedia Modeling, a leading international event for researchers and industry practitioners for sharing new ideas on Multimedia. 

This year the conference was held at the ReyKjavik University in Iceland including interesting sessions, where original research and investigation results in Multimedia Content Analysis, Multimedia Signal Processing and Communications, Multimedia Applications and Services were presented.

During the conference a special session on Multimedia and Multimodal Interaction for Health and Basic Care Applications was held. This session was organized by our KRISTINA partners StefanosVrochidis, Leo Wanner, Elisabeth André and also by Klaus Schoeffmann. The special session included the presentation and discussion of several topics relevant to KRISTINA such as multimodal interaction with agents, dialogue and speech analysis.

The session was concluded with a dedicated panel during which the challenges of KRISTINA project were discussed and the paper presenters shared their views on topics relevant to multimodal interaction with agents, dialogue and robotics for health applications. Wolfgang Minker from UULM was also invited to the panel and discussed topics relevant to KRISTINA focusing on dialogue.
